Leadership in The Family

Humans are social beings who can not live alone. In life, people are always interact with others and with the environment. Humans live in groups either in large groups or in small groups. Living in groups for sure is not easy. In order to create harmonious living conditions, group members must respect and appreciate each other. Regularity of life needs to be maintained. Regular life is the dream of every human being. Creating and maintaining a harmonious life is a human task.

Human is awarded the ability to think, the ability to sort and choose which ones are good and which are bad. With these advantages, people should be able to manage their environment properly. Not only the environment that needs to be managed well, the social life of human beings also should be managed properly. For that, it is needed quality human resources. Resource that spirited leader, at least not to lead themselves. With the spirited leader, people will be able to themselves, the group, and the environment well.

 Family is a place where all the development of leadership qualities. Family is the best place to train all of the personal qualities that we need in order to become a good leader. In a family, the husband is a supreme leader (called top manager). And the second leader is a woman who can be called as well as middle manager or lower manager. The purpose of a family is to support the growth and development of its members. All members of the family should have their growth, development and health, even the adults. 

Leadership that applied in a family must be open and egalitarian. A family member is obliged to maintain themselves in their attitude and everyday behavior, so that the harmonious life materialized. Each family leader should be gentle towards all their followers. In matters concerning the interests of the family, both in planning, organizing, mobilization and supervision. 

Education in the family is the foundation for the next child education. It can be also said that the family is the foundation stone for the first and primary education. It is said like that because every knowledge, intellectual, and interests of children first be obtained from the parents (family) and other family members. Therefore parents must instill values that is necessary for the development of children’s personality, so that the child will grow and have good personality traits.

Not all parents in guiding their children have a similar view, depending on the forms of leadership adopted by parents in the family itself. In general, there are three kinds of forms of parents leadership, which are democratic, authoritarian and liberal. These parents leadership for sure have a different impact on the maturity of their children themselves. For example, the impact of democratic patterns of care is that the children possess confidence, be optimistic, and have a creative power. Whereas the impact of authoritarian patterns of care are children who are not safe, less confident, easy to doubt and despair, passive and can not evolve. 

While the impact of liberal patterns of care is that children who are ignorant, don’t respect other people and don’t care about other people’s circumferences and the impact is not good for the formation of maturity of the child. Therefore parents have a very important role in the development of their children. 

The relationship between the leader and the led of the family, should be fostered rope bonds of affection in addition to other materials factors. A husband as a top manager, should be fair to his wife. Similarly, as a parent to his children and other family members. Hatred to members should be avoided. If there is an attitude and behavior that is not good, it should be corrected with patience, so that attitudes and behaviors are lost with self-education to family members, do not even act unjustly.
