When we talk about leadership and people who own it (leaders), there`s always come up so many questions. A question that most of people keep in mind are “how they can have it?”, ”Does people born as leader or leaders grown from people?”, “if we are actually a leader, when we can own it?” and much more. There are so many theory trying to answer all of this questions. It comes up from many experts, leaders, And as a freshman i got my own theory.
Leaders born as leader and also grown to be leader. Born and grown. These two, in my opinion cannot be separated. Leaders born from people from any kind of society, race, gender, ethnics. Nobles, civilians, labors, even ragtag, have their own chance to become a great leader. And in their life, they facing many circumstances where they must make decisions that not only affect him/herself but also many people lives ( followers ). And thats not just once, problems keep coming.They need to go through all of this, because by facing all of this, they got what a great leader need, and it is experience. So a leader born from any kind of diversity, and they grown to be a great leader from experience.
Talk about experience, what is the first experience that will affect someone`s leadership?.Of course it`s something that almost everyone got in the beginning of their life. Everything starts from our home, our family, the beginning and the biggest influence of someone`s leadership. At home, family teaches us which is right and which is wrong. They inherit all they know, and we are like a copy of them. We are like a paper and they the first tint that gonna write us. They created us, they created our beginning of personality. And after that we bring all we got from home to a larger society, playfield, school, till the largest that is true society which all of this affect to our pesonality
From personality, it affects our leaderships style and because of everyone have a different personality, it also create a difference in leadership style of someone. This is very unique. Like a marathon of millions people which everyone get their own start line (home) and route (personality). At first they go on their own route, time continues some start to follow others route cause they feel more comfortable ( some are affected by others ), and finnaly there are only few people reach the end line (true leader) with people on their back ( followers).
A good leader is a good learner, and the first thing they learn they got it from family. Eventhough family is a big influence, some are unlucky enough because some have no home or family or environment like a family. But that doesnt mean they have no start line to be a leader. It just means they have another way to begin with, even some are bitter experience like Abdul Sattar Edhi, the owner of Edhi foundation. His mother was mentally ill and and he was just a kid at the time and watching his mother helpless had cultivated a deep sense of compassion for the suffering of others and now he make a foundation to help others accross countries. He said it was because when he was a little boy, his mother used to give him two coins everyday;one was for his personal use and the other, she said, was for him to give to someone less fortunate than himself. Its a lesson he still carries with him today and from his story we can say that no matter what kind of home we got, there is always an option to be a leader. It just about what decisions we make, its about what we do because leadership is not just a theory.Its a verb.Its a practice.
